The healthcare community is desperately seeking tools that can help streamline the triage and diagnostics process. There is no doubt that AI offers gigantic opportunities. However, despite billions of investments in AI tools the past decade, the application of AI at point-of-care is faltering. Existing AI DDX providers are NOT living up to the expectations because they haven’t been able to crack the code of the complexity of the medical diagnostic process.

 

The founders of Knidian did crack the code!  Yet this didn’t happen overnight. Knidian is based on decades of pioneering research into the mathematical modelling of the medical diagnosis process. Our technological approach is completely different from any existing DDX tool.  Instead of applying Bayes and working with conditionality, our algorithm is based on Minmax, calculating real probabilities of potential diseases. This allows Knidian to deal accurately with complex and concurrent diseases as our AI can go forward and backward in the diagnosis process.

 

Knidian uses SNOMED and UMLS codifications, so it can be seamlessly integrated with EHR soft-ware, avoiding double systems and tireless training. Knidian is able to handle unstructured and incomplete data, operating independently in the background, whilst providing full transparency in the diagnostics process (no black box!).  Having Knidian’s co-pilot as a tab on the physician’s screen will provide a reliable second opinion, leading to significantly less misdiagnosis, improved overall efficiency and care, avoid unnecessary tests and help significantly reduce the workload.
